Handmade: Britain's Best Woodworker

Mel Giedroyc hosts, as 10 woodworking enthusiasts compete to be crowned Britain's Best Woodworker. The woodworkers' first challenge is to produce a garden bench for the garden of their dreams, big enough to share with a loved one.

Energy levels are high for this week's big build challenge, as the contestants have just two days to make a pair of complementary freestanding lamps. In the skills challenge, they must carve out a pair of chopsticks from a block of cherry wood.

The eight remaining woodworkers are tasked with creating a statement coffee table with an eye-catching top and unique, stable legs. Then the woodworkers are challenged with making as many perfectly matching dice as possible in 90 minutes.

The remaining woodworkers must create a freestanding bookshelf, inspired by nature and strong enough to house a stack of heavy books. And it's waste not want not in the skills challenge when the judges ask for a wooden candelabra using off-cuts.

The remaining six woodworkers make a supersize creepy crawly of their choice. And in the skills challenge, they need to use all their canine cunning to secure immunity as they build a house for a four-legged friend.

The five remaining woodworkers chisel, saw and create a fantastic four-poster bed, beautiful enough to grace a honeymoon suite. And in the skills challenge, the woodworkers carve an intricate Indian printing block.
