The coming of age story of 16 year old Bethan Gwyndaf. We follow her as she deals with the comical but painfully real anxieties and insecurities of teenage life, along with the stark reality of a home life that is far removed from what she projects to her friends. It's a place where humour and heartbreak walk hand in hand. Full of Welsh wit and grit and light and shade.
Bethan and Poppy get closer, but Bethan's attention is demanded by Lydia and Travis, who drag her into the chip shop where Lydia flirts with the owner, a middle-aged lothario called Tony. Bethan and her Nana visit Trina in the psychiatric hospital. It's a difficult visit and Nana suggests that Bethan comes to and lives with her whilst Trina is in hospital. Later, Bethan is called back to the hospital by someone who tells her that her mum has been killed in a violent altercation.
The coming of age story of 16 year old Bethan as she deals with the comical but painfully real anxieties and insecurities of teenage life.
With her mum Trina released from hospital and now working with Nana at the local bingo hall, Bethan finds herself free to experience the joys of teenage life. At school, Bethan is full of herself as she tries to make a good impression on new girl Cam, who she has a crush on. However, Bethan's home life is far from perfect as she becomes ever more combative with her abusive father, Dilwyn.
