`Love, Nina' is Nick Hornby's television adaptation of the award-winning book by Nina Stibbe. The story is set in 1982 and follows 20-year-old Nina, a nanny who moves from Leicester to north London for a new role. George, a single working mother and editor of a London literary review, interviews Nina at Gloucester Crescent, where the nanny also meets her two young sons, Max and Joe. After Nina is hired there are a few bumps in the road as she tries to settle into her new home with the family and their curious neighbours.

Nina approaches the house on Gloucester Crescent for the first time. George lets her in, and the two women have their first chat in the sitting room. George asks Nina about her qualifications and tells her the younger of her two sons Joe has an illness.

Twenty-year-old Nina from Leicester moves to north London to care for the two young boys of working single mother George, the editor of a London literary review. Nina has trouble keeping track of the boys, which leads to an awkward conversation and an even more uncomfortable date at the local pub.

Nina helps an an elerly woman gain a cat, finds a way into Nunney's Thomas Hardy novel, and looks after Joe when he is poorly.
