Allison Dubois sees dead people. Her `gift' can not only change fate, but justice for those who no longer have a voice. In this episode, Joe tries to prove that Allison's dreams are stress related by sending descriptions of them to law enforcement agencies. However, when one of her dreams matches a homicide in Texas, his attempt is thwarted.

Allison questions her powers when her old boss asks for her help in selecting a jury. He wants a jury that will return the death penalty for a twisted murderer/rapist, which makes Allison suspect she's helped put the wrong man on death row.

Allison has a dream of a husband and wife committing a murder-suicide. DA Devalos introduces her to a friend of his, Detective Lee Scanlon, whose sister and brother-in-law's deaths were also ruled a murder-suicide, and sees a connection. After learning about Allison's methods of investigation, Scanlon decides he doesn't want her help.

Allison tries convincing Devalos that she heard a witness giving misinformation to a police sketch artist, making them look for the wrong man.

The case of a murdered police officer takes a shocking turn when Allison dreams where the murder weapon was hidden, and she is called to the stand to testify how she obtained the information. Allison fears that Joe is having an affair when he repeatedly comes home late from work.

When Allison has a dream about a man kidnapping her daughter and then runs into the man from her dream at the District Attorney's office, she learns that he is a good Samaritan who witnessed a robbery and is fully cooperating. A stakeout leads her to conclude that he is the kidnapper of multiple young women but after a little roadblock in her investigation she learns a shocking fact about her dream.
