Julie Castro has been missing for more than eight years. Her mother, Suzanne, searches in vain for a sign of life. While visiting a patient, she sees Julie's face in a newspaper photo taken at a recent event.

Following the discovery of Anais' body, Suzanne begins to suspect that Julie's disappearance has a direct link with Anais' murder. At the same time, Gabrielle Varan, a young police officer, is put in charge of the investigation.
