Morten Mathijsen has a loving family, a successful career and a shining prospect as a politician. Aided by an unexpected meeting with former classmate Evelien Bax, Morten Mathijsen seizes his chance to make his mark as a prime ministerial candidate.

Using the remains of the manuscript, Kelly de Nooijer begins to seriously investigate her father's death at villa Maison Neuf. However, she encounters a wall of reluctance. Kelly decides to infiltrate Morten's life.

Marijn Flanders is commissioned by Evelien Bax to search for the author of the Maison Neuf manuscript and comes to a shocking discovery about her own past. Morten Mathijsen's blackmailer turns out to possess an entirely different weapon.

On the eve of the elections, Morten plans to make short work of his alleged blackmailer. He ventures into the lion's den, where even list leader and number one in the party Tilda Adema has to submit to Morten's moneyed urge.
