Operation Buffalo

Major Leo Carmichael oversees the construction of British atomic test towers and must contend with the arrival of the British High Commissioner. In addition, Leo learns that someone from the base has gone missing.

Leo is immediately suspicious of a new woman who has arrived at the camp. Meanwhile, Cranky finds himself questioning his purpose after a difficult encounter with an Aboriginal family.

On a visit to the city of Adelaide, Leo receives a tempting offer from Attorney General Wilcox. Meanwhile, Eva sets out to question Quentin about his weather reports back at Maralinga.

After arriving back at the Maralinga site with Wilcox as well as members of the press, Leo must ensure they do not encounter any of the unexpected visitors that are hiding in the camp's kitchen.

Whilst Cranky makes a difficult decision about his future, Leo and Eva decide to team up when an incident involving Carmen's friends being attacked by an intelligence operative raises many questions.

Whilst Eva struggles with her abductor, Leo and Corinne must finally decide who they really trust. Meanwhile, Cranky tells Dalgleish that he wants to stay in the Australian desert.
