Frank Hardcastle is a recently widowed man in his seventies, living in the small but picturesque village of Glan Mor on the north coast of Wales. As the owner of the Daffodil Dunes Holiday Park, he is an integral part of the close-knit community, and, still mourning the loss of the love of his life Bronwen in the previous year, he relies on his close friends to help him through the tough times. Frank's world is further shaken up when his daughter Carys unexpectedly shows up for his surprise 71st birthday party, along with her moody, city-loving teenage son Dylan.
