When a young schoolgirl disappears without a trace in 1963, George Carter, a local police officer jumps on the case. Although the authorities do not find a body, the case is being treated as suspicious and murder is suspected.

George asks his first suspect for an interview to gather information about the missing schoolgirl. Elsewhere, a trail of disturbing evidence is found and puts Hawkin in a very precarious situation.

Hawkin must face the judge and jury on accusations that he kidnapped and killed young Alison. Meanwhile, the local village is overjoyed that someone is being held accountable for the terrible crime.
