Shen Zhiheng, a man over a century old, has used the power of the blood amber stone to extend his life. As a tycoon in Haihe, he regularly criticizes the actions of Chi Shanying, the governor of the Haidong Army, through his newspapers. At a dinner hosted by Mr. Mi, Li Yingliang, Chi’s subordinate, tries to show goodwill to Shen, but Shen remains uninterested, his attention elsewhere.

Mi Lan, who is blind, secretly visits the hospital to seek help from Situ Weilian after learning that Shen Zhiheng is in critical condition. Situ quickly arrives, bringing a blood bottle to save Shen. After his recovery, Shen learns that the car involved in his assassination attempt came from Li Yingliang’s Construction Committee, a ruthless organization that controls businesses.

Li Yingliang, seeking to uncover the truth behind a series of beast attacks, invites Shen Zhiheng to dinner. Shen Zhiheng, suspicious of his brother's involvement, attends the dinner. However, the meeting turns into a confrontation. Shen Zhiheng, remembering the near-fatal incident in the past, refuses to forgive Li Yingliang. A fight ensues, and Shen Zhiheng overpowers Li Yingliang.

Shen Zhiheng’s instincts told him something was off when Mi Lan’s health deteriorated. After finding her with a high fever, he immediately took her to the hospital. Once she regained consciousness and strength, he gave her an engraving of "Nuo" and promised never to stand idly by in her moments of distress. Meanwhile, Jin Jingxue, upon hearing about Li Yingliang's hospitalization.

Shen Zhiheng visited the Economic Construction Committee to warn Li Yingliang to stay away from Mi Lan. Li Yingliang, having suspected Mi Lan's involvement in saving Shen Zhiheng's life, confronted him, demanding to know why Shen Zhiheng seemed unkillable. Shen Zhiheng, angry, claimed he was a monster and threatened Li Yingliang, warning him not to pursue him again.
