Only 11 cooks remain, and this time the challenge is all about comfort food. Dishes range from ginger and black pepper rice pudding, to posh cheese on toast. The contestants must make a pie fit for Michelin-starred guest chef Michael Caines.

Tensions are heightened with the addition of alcohol as the 14 remaining cooks compete to create the perfect pairing of food and wine. Two guest mentors - chef and restaurant owner David Kinch and sommelier Andre Mack - visit the kitchens too.

As the culinary competition heats up, 12 cooks remain, they must put their own spin on a classic American sandwich and two guest mentors, chef and restaurant owners Mario Carbone and Rich Torrisi, decide which team does the best job.

As the culinary contest continues, the emphasis is on cooking with the less palatable parts of the animal, such as sweetbreads, tripe, oxtail and pigs' ears.
