Yankee Jungle
DEW Haven is a nonprofit home to more than 200 domestic, exotic, and wild animals in Mount Vernon, Maine. `Yankee Jungle' follows the goings-on at the sanctuary, which was founded in 1980 by Bob Miner as a therapeutic device after he suffered debilitating strokes from his service in Vietnam. With wife Julie and a dedicated team of workers, interns and volunteers, Bob works around the clock to provide for creatures - kangaroos, lemurs, wolves, camels, spider monkeys and bears, to name a few - that have become part of their family.
