Joanna Scanlan

Joanna Scanlan was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. She also was featured in the miniseries "Vanity Fair" (1999-2000). She had a part on the television special "A Rather English Marriage" (PBS, 1999-2000). She worked in series television while getting her start in acting, including a part on "Doc Martin" (ITV 1, 2004). She also starred in the TV movies "Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre" (1997-98) and "The Deal" (Channel 4, 2003-04). In the early 2000s, she acted in the Joel Edgerton comedy "Kinky Boots" (2006), "Notes on a Scandal" (2006) and "Stardust" (2007) with Claire Danes. She spent the 2010s tackling film roles in "The Calling" (2010), the dramatic adaptation "The Invisible Woman" (2013) with Ralph Fiennes and the family "Get Santa" (2014) with Jim Broadbent. She also worked in television during these years, including roles in "Death Comes to Pemberley" (PBS, 2013) and "No Offence" (Channel 4, 2014-). Scanlan most recently acted in the Alicia Vikander dramatic period piece "Testament of Youth" (2015).
