Alvin is trying to make it as an adventurer in a land ravaged by monsters and other such baddies; he ends up getting the bad end of a fight with a bear-like creature only to be saved by the dark elf healer girl Carla.

Alvin resumes his original quest to gather antidote herbs, but suffers through misfortune at every step, not helped by his inability to escape Carla and her curse.

Alvin continues his ill-fated travels with Carla and tries to keep up his job as a monster-hunting adventurer, challenging a mushroom monster to a fight only to find it much tougher than he expected.

Alvin seems to be doing well, but of course as a veteran rookie he isn't without his struggles and he once again reveals his aptitude for falling into holes and even causes their mushroom monster companion to worry.

Carla accidentally forces Alvin to reveal a surprising true form.

Alvin takes massive damage after an attack by a thief and a golem; he takes off his armour to recuperate.
