Ben Gundelach is an ordinary, everyday family man who finds the body of a murdered four year old boy. Now everyone in the street is a suspect and Ben is shocked that he is at the top of the list.

Ben finds an unlikely ally in Thom's grieving mother when he presents her with compelling evidence that her estranged husband could be the murderer.

Ben confronts Jess's ex-husband Paul when he sees him entering Jess's house. On top of the revelation that Tasha was involved with Paul, Jess and Ben now discover that her sister, Nicole, is Paul's alibi for the night of Thom's murder.

Details of the murder weapon are released to the press, prompting Ben to cover his tracks by throwing the torch found in the back of his van into the river. Meanwhile, he discovers suspicious items in the roof of a neighbour's house.

Ben follows another lead and discovers a man squatting inside a house near where he found Thom's body. When he uncovers a blood-stained jacket in the laundry, he alerts the police, hoping to finally clear his name.
