Thomas and Friends: Tales from the Rails

Percy is late to collect some sheep and is in such a hurry to collect them that he doesn't realise that there is a hole at the back of the wagon. One by one the sheep escape without Percy realising. Thomas passes Percy and discovers the sheep and is forced to stop and collect them. But the only place for the sheep to ride is in Annie or Clarabel!

Thomas first met Hiro when he found him abandoned and in need of repair in the woods. It was not easy to get spare parts for Hiro and so, when Thomas causes Hiro to be derailed, he rushes to find him spare parts. Only Thomas hasn't told anyone where he is going, so when he runs into trouble nobody knows where to look for him!

Sidney is a very hard working diesel, but he's also very forgetful. One day The Fat Controller gives him a very special job but when he stops to talk to Gordon he gets distracted, forgets what he's supposed to be doing, and ends up at The Waste Dump looking for boilers and then The Animal Park waiting for an elephant!

Philip assumes that Toby is a diesel boxcab just like him. Convinced that they will become best friends, Philip rushes up to introduce himself, but Toby finds him rather overwhelming. Philip is very persistent and gets upset when he thinks Toby doesn't like him, but with a little help he eventually learns that you can be friends with someone who doesn't like the same things you like.

When Gordon is late to pull the Express the Fat Controller gives it to Henry instead. Because Gordon has said how difficult his work is, Henry doubts he's up to the job but more than proves himself and all the passengers love him. Gordon is left to take over Henry's work, which he thinks is beneath him, and he ends up going on strike.

Diesel likes to appear rough and tough but, when Thomas finds him lovingly fussing over some baby ducklings, he threatens to tell everyone that Diesel is really a big softie. Diesel is horrified and promises to be nice to everyone in exchange for Thomas not telling anyone. All the engines are pleasantly surprised when Diesel starts being polite and friendly, but just how long can he keep it up?
