Sana Hidak has returned to Sakuranomori, and on his first day back at school, he is thrilled to see two of his childhood friends: Syusuke and Syuri.

Sana is elected classroom representative! Nanaka is still acting weird ... until she hears him playing the song she played to him before he left.

Syusuke and Syuri invite everyone to a river, hoping to help rebuild Sana's relationship with Nanaka, but it turns out he's a magnet for trouble.

On his way home, "Shu" rescues young Hinako from a gang of bullies. But Hinako, as it turns out, has a crush on Shu, even though she's only ten!

Nanaka spends most of her time practicing her cherry blossom dance. But she's in for a sad surprise when she volunteers at a retirement home.

After learning that her mother won't be home for her birthday, Hinako moves into Sana's apartment.
