楽園荘を切り盛りするマンレは、50年ぶりに現れたゴボクを見たとたん血相を変えて出ていけと大声を上げる。一方、夫ジングの死の真相を確かめるためソウルにやってきたバクハは、楽園荘の近くで突然産気づいてしまう。

バクハがソウルに来る2日前の夜、横領の責任をなすりつけられたジングは上司のソン理事から海外に密航するよう迫られる。そうとは知らず夫の帰りを待つバクハだが、翌朝、火災現場からジングの遺体が発見されるのだった。
