As she begins college life, Ami Kurata suddenly finds a new interest in bicycling and searches for an affordable folding bike to call her own; her first ride nearly ends in disaster after she skips breakfast and her energy runs out.

Two cyclists introduce Ami and her friend Aoi to the Alpaca Cycle bike shop and invite them along for a weekend ride; Aoi helps Ami when she struggles up a big hill.

Ami gets cramps in her legs on a challenging ride through Yabitsu Pass, forcing the group to stop short; Ami feels guilty about the trouble she caused, so Aoi takes her on a family trip to lift her spirits.

Ami takes up a second part-time job to make enough money to buy a road bike; Ami's friends, worried about her well-being, secretly follow her and discover she got a job at a maid cafe.

Ami gets her road bike and goes for a ride with her friends; she breaks off from the group and tries to race another cyclist, but gets a flat tire, and goes through all of her spare tubes without successfully fixing it.

Ami achieves a personal milestone as she finishes the Yabitsu Pass route; when Hinako explains that she belongs to a cycling team, Ami and her friends decide to form their own team and brainstorm a jersey design and a team name.
