Clem

Clem is a regular 16-year-old, with parents, friends, a boyfriend… Until she realizes she is pregnant and it’s too late for an abortion. She tells her parents, but even cool and loving Jean-Paul and Caro have trouble dealing with this crisis. In addition to the toll it takes on their family, Jean-Paul being a teacher at Clem’s high school is not spared any of the judgments and attitudes from students and fellow teachers. And what will happen to Caro’s decision to go back to work after 9 years of homemaking? As for Clem, she may be faced with a new and sometimes challenging life, but she’s still a teenager!

Clem is green with envy watching all her friends take off on a camping trip and having to stay home with baby. But Julien has also stayed behind to take care of his son, so if Clem wants to win him back it’s now or never! As for Clem’s parents, still separated, there won’t be any vacation either. What’s more, Jean-Paul springs the news on Caro that he has found his own apartment. A risky move. Could it be the final straw that breaks their marriage? Looks like a hot summer for the Boissier family!

For Clem, this fall is no spring picnic. It’s Get that high school diploma time! With an emphasis in “Oops! I’m a Mom!” And as if juggling baby bottles with cramming for tests isn’t enough to handle, in walks the most incredibly attractive guy Clem has ever seen: Mathieu, 20 years old, dark and handsome, with a shady past. Jean-Paul and Caro watch their daughter like a hawk – one grandson is enough, thank you. It’s the No Vacancy sign in this family for the next ten years!

In-laws can be hard to handle! Especially when their relationship is on the rocks. Jean-Paul’s parents invite themselves over to stay – separately, of course: one in the guest room, the other in a RV parked out front. Caro tries hard to smooth out the rough edges and not take sides. For Jean-Paul, it may be a chance to finally open up to his father. Clem sees having her grandmother around as an opportunity to let her take care of Valentin and spend more time alone with Mathieu. But everything goes to pieces when Jean-Paul’s mother announces her firm and final decision to divorce.

Now that everyone has forgotten that Clem’s father Jean-Paul requested a transfer to the south of France, the board of education finally approves the transfer. Jean-Paul is already imagining the whole Boissier family basking in the sun on the beaches of Cassis. But at the same time Caro’s boss offers her an opportunity to go back to school to become an optician and open her own store! Whose dream will be sacrificed to save their relationship? It’s a tough situation on Clem’s side, too. Taking Valentin far from his father Julien is out of the question, and she couldn’t bear to lose all her friends. Even Salomé protests. Not to forget Julien’s family, the Brimonts, who will have to be welcomed into the family circle for Valentin’s sake.

Caro, now an optician, has opened her own store and turns out to be an incredible businesswoman – to the point of managing her family like a company, too. It won’t be long before they go on strike! The bomb explodes at Clem’s big seventeenth birthday party when she discovers Julien with another girl... in her parents’ bed! It’s over between them, and this time Clem swears she will never talk to Julien ever again, no matter what. Everyone takes sides: girls vs. boys, the Brimonts vs. the Boissiers. Even Jean-Paul and Michel start a fist fight, each defending “his” teenager. Caro tries to work things out, but Marie France is furious and plans to ask for custody of Valentin.
