Taste and Tears

After losing his mother as a child, high schooler Shinya Fuma (Kento Nagao) lives with his single father, who owns a restaurant that offers free meals to underprivileged children – including one of his classmates, Yuka Arai (Ami Touma). At school, Shinya and Yuka begin to grow closer as they work together on the school newspaper, and Shinya develops feelings for her. After a visit to Yuka's house where Shinya witnesses Yuka's father physically harm her, Shinya takes Yuka on a one-night escape to take her mind off of things. The very next day, Yuka and her family move away, and Shinya has no way of finding her. Three decades later, Shinya has taken over his father's restaurant and meal program, still hoping that one day, he'll find Yuka again... until an unexpected visitor changes everything. This movie was adapted from the novel of the same name by Akio Morikawa.
