Luke Daniels

British folk singer/songwriter and renowned multi-instrumentalist Luke Daniels began his career in the mid-'90s with the release of his debut instrumental collection Tarantella. His own recordings as a frontman made him a star of the traditional folk world and his virtuoso command of the melodeon led to a variety of session gigs over the years with artists like Ian Anderson, De Dannan, Cara Dillon, Frank Kilkelly, and the touring company of Riverdance. He has toured the world with a variety of acts and performed with his own band at prestigious venues like the London Jazz Festival and the Royal Festival Hall. He's even worked alongside composer Howard Shore and the London Philharmonic on the soundtracks for Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. After multiple instrumental releases and over two decades as a sought-after session player, Daniels switched his focus to guitar and piano, beginning a dramatic shift that would see him reinvent himself as a singer/songwriter. This new approach would be revealed on 2014's What's Here What's Gone, a 12-song collection of warm, thoughtful, and more pop-oriented material showcasing his prowess as a lyricist and singer. ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi
