JD has to work on his day off and can't seem to leave the hospital. Turk looks for a heart donor for one of his patients. Carla is afraid that she wont have the courage to become a parent.

JD's ego starts to impede the learning process when Elliot continues to outperform him with their patients.

Turk is held up by a patient on the day of his wedding. JD, trying to make things right with Elliot, tries to conjure up a reconciliation between her and Sean.

JD, Elliot and Turk spend their first night at the hospital working without a supervising physician, finding the responsibilities overwhelming. A car crashes into the hospital parking lot after a televised car chase.

When a patient wakes up in the hospital, she sees everything around her happening as a musical. Carla is unsure about returning to work. Elliot must figure out a way to tell JD that he cannot move to her new house with her.

JD, desperate not to be seen as a geek by the other surgeons on rotation, tells them a secret about Turk, causing the two friends to fall out.
