Jake Long is a 13-year-old Asian-American boy who strives to find balance in his life as a skateboarding New Yorker, while learning to master his mystical powers as the American Dragon.

Jake has trouble getting a date for the school dance, so lets Fu help him get one in Magicville. She's pretty, but she has terrible breath, and turns out to be a soul sucker.

Jake is a young American dragon responsible for all the magical creatures in his territory. He's learning the skills he needs with the help of his grandfather, but while he's training he misses his normal friends.

In `Adventures in Trollsitting', Jake rescues a troll, who turns out to be a friend of his aunt's. In `Fu Dog Takes a Walk', Fu Dog is captured by a rogue dog catcher who wants to use him in experiments.
