Carlo Verdone shares the drama and comedy of his private life and his relationship to his loving, jealous and oppressive mothercity of Rome, juxtaposing his generous public image with his tragicomic private one.

When Signoretti, the president of the Lazio region, asks Verdone to run for mayor, the actor promises to think about it. However, due to a series of coincidences, the news reaches Roberto D'Agostino's ears.

A rastless man
Rosa, Carlo's press officer, tries to deny the rumours that he is running for mayor. However, the party publishes a tweet in which he announces his candidacy and the news becomes public.

Ready for anything
At his friend Antonello Venditti's exhibition, Carlo argues with his son Giovanni, who accuses him of not being able to say no to anyone. Carlo not only can't make up his mind about running for mayor, he can't even get rid of Chicco.

One of those days
Carlo and Max want to go to the stadium to watch Roma's match, but on the way the driver argues on the phone with his lover and crashes into some bins. Carlo and Max are forced to watch the match from the hospital.

Date with surprise
Carlo's first date with Annalisa is disrupted by Sofia, a girl in need of the morning-after pill. Virgilio comes to the rescue.

Meditations and curses
After the rubbish scandal, the mayor resigns and early elections are on the horizon. As journalists besiege him, Carlo takes refuge in a monastery where he unexpectedly meets Morgan.
