Extreme Forest

An actor since he was seventeen, Chen Bolin takes a break from acting and invites his friends to go camping in Tainan. He carefully curates a series of activities that honor nature. Excitedly, Bolin takes his Shiba Inu, Afuri, to Chiayi to prepare for the upcoming trip. There, they are met with a cold and rainy night.

Bolin and Liu Kuan-Ting meet up at Nantou, then head to Zhushan to do some food shopping. With Kuan-Ting’s company, Bolin opens up more. They bargain their way around the fresh market. As they set up tents together, Bolin shows his funny side and shares his camping techniques with Kuan-Ting, who also draws laughs from Bolin with his own natural humor, albeit a newcomer to reality shows.

Bolin and Kuan-Ting visit the Wangyou Forest and they are greeted by the sight that elicits from them acute awareness of its fleeting nature. Their next destination—Tainan—starts them on a journey together from forest to sea, deepening their friendship and unveiling their true selves outside of their actor persona. Complementing each other, Bolin likes to try new things while Kuan-Ting is more circumspect. In the evening, they have a hard-to-come-by crab dinner, feeling ever more grateful for what nature has to offer.

After the shock of seeing a crab lose its claw the night before, Bolin and Kuan-Ting appreciate everything they have and give back to the land. The next morning, their toothpaste tastes like crab roe from last night. They have a bite of grandma's sweet and sour tomato that heralds a beautiful day and are off to plant some trees after breakfast. During the boat ride across the Taijiang area, the natural scenery around them is so surreal. The challenge that awaits at Wangzailiao Sand Bar takes a lot of their energy.On the last day of their journey, Kuan-Ting gives Bolin a gift.

Bolin is stepping foot for the first time in Taitung and he is blessed with a rainless day. He walks around a market street in Changbin but fails to find his "famous actress friend," who actually is on a mission to disguise herself as a greengrocer to hide from Bolin. Later, they experience a zipline adventure where Bolin exhibits his fearlessness while his new friend freaks out.

It is the first morning of their camping trip. Nikki suggests they do some yoga and praises Bolin for nailing it. After the morning workout, they earn some cash to buy food, picking up plantains and rangpur limes. In the vast natural environment, Bolin tries to make Nikki laugh by imitating the sounds of a Chinese muntjac. Even though things don’t go well during the missions, they ride through every unsuccessful moment together. After a relaxing day, a difficult challenge awaits the next day.
