S3, E5: Although his co-workers want to nominate him Paramedic of the Year, a pensive Doc is disheartened as he considers his unfulfilled life. He later teams with Kim as they try to save a heart attack victim while fending off an interfering old woman, Amy (ANNIE GOLDEN), wielding a meat cleaver. In addition, Doc tries to minister to an old chronic drunk, Sam (BILL CWIKOWSKI), and a teenaged girl who attempted suicide in her bathtub. Meanwhile, Yokas secretly undergoes a biopsy to determine if the lump in her breast is cancerous, leaving her unsuspecting partner, Bosco, with a nervous rookie cop, Gusler (recurring guest star CHARLIE McWADE). Kim reluctantly consults a lawyer, Seymour Morgenstern (MICHAEL LERNER), about ex-husband Doherty's intention to gain custody of their son.
