The Big Ripoff

S1, E10: Working on a theory that an insurance company was taken for $400,000 in settling with a lone plane crash survivor, Rockford (James Garner) turns up a plot laced with chicanery. Rockford is hired by Nancy (Nedra Dean) to find out if her lover, Steve (Fred Beir), died accidentally or was done in by his wife, Ginny (Suzanne Somers), who "miraculously" survived the crash. When Nancy suddenly drops Rockford, he convinces the insurance head, Moss (Normann Burton), there are solid grounds for a probe. The trail leads to an art colony where model Marilyn (Jill Clayburgh) not only helps Rockford but "nurses" him after attacks by his adversaries.
