The No-Cut Contract

S2, E15: Rob Reiner guest-stars as a small-time pro quarterback who implicates Rockford in a blackmail scheme that brings both the mob and federal agents after Jim. When King Sturtevant is caught by federal agents and questioned about tapes with evidence against underworld figures, he finds Rockford's name in the phone book and tells the officers that Rockford has them. Rockford realizes he must work for King in order to clear himself.
