A Rebel Born follows the life of Nathan Bedford Forrest, a brilliant Confederate general and one of the most controversial figures in the American Civil War. Responsible for the massacre at the Battle of Fort Pillow, he was an expert cavalry leader, and one of the few soldiers to be promoted to general with no military training.
