Blinded by enemy fire in World War II, Sgt. Larry Nevins enters a military hospital to begin rehabilitation. Bitter and withdrawn, he struggles to adapt to blindness and relies on others for support. A growing friendship with fellow soldier Joe Morgan and a connection with volunteer Judy Greene force Larry to examine his attitudes toward himself and those around him.
