A deceptively simple love story that turns the notion of romantic love on its head, FOREVER (我愛你愛你愛你) is the second feature by Wee Li Lin, one of Singapore’s most prominent female filmmakers. Popular singer and finalist of 2017 Sing! China (中国好声音) singing contest, Joanna Dong (董姿彦) plays the lead role of Joey, who works for W.E.D. - a pseudo government agency invested in getting more Singaporeans to marry. At W.E.D., Joey makes faux wedding films to propagate the agency’s cause in spite of her own deeply distorted views on love. When Joey finds herself falling in love with a handsome co-star (played by Taiwan actor Mo Tzu Yi 莫子儀) in one of her video creations, her world is never the same again. Nestled within its familiar accoutrements of romantic comedies lies Forever’s heart of darkness in which the lines of reality and fantasy begin to blur in its reading of idealised love.
