Hokkaido high school seniors Hiro (Kie Kitano) and Shu (Masaki Okada) are newly dating, enjoying their blossoming young romance. However, a silent threat that could spell the end of their relationship looms over them: Hiro's plans for university are local, while Shu intends to apply to universities outside of Hokkaido. When Shu reveals his acceptance – and intent – to attend Waseda University in Tokyo, Hiro struggles with the prospect of a long-distance relationship, and begs Shu not to go. As their high school graduation date grows ever closer, Hiro and Shu must make decisions that may affect the direction of their lives forever.
