Advocate Jagdish Tyagi alias Jolly (Arshad Warsi) is unhappy with his life in a small town. He convinces his girlfriend Sandhya (Amrita Rao) and moves to Delhi to become successful in the District and Sessions court. He struggles in his pursuit of fame and wealth. In an attempt to gain the media spotlight, he files a PIL for reinvestigation into a Land Cruiser hit-and-run case. A spoiled brat in an over-speeding Land Cruiser had mowed down some people sleeping on a pavement. Thanks to his influential family’s money and lawyer Tejinder Rajpal's (Boman Irani) legal acumen, the boy was acquitted by the court. Jolly reopens this case with the help of an eye witness. This results in a legal tussle and an unequal clash between the haves and have-nots.
