After her teenage son Alex is killed in a hit-and-run, Canadian businesswoman Dinah Middleton turns investigator when police find no suspect. Her search leads to New York City-where she learns the crime isn't covered by the Canada-U.S. extradition treaty-and grief becomes an all-consuming pursuit of justice.
