Sarafina!
High school student Sarafina learns about the Afrikaaner oppression from her teacher, Mary, and becomes involved in the Soweto protests of 1976. Sarafina's mother, a servant in a white household, urges Sarafina to toe the line, but when the government imprisons her teacher and slaughters her would-be boyfriend, Sarafina wrestles with her decision to use violence against the government's strictures.
