The Heart

When fiercely independent photographer Mika falls for charismatic musician Tesfay, their romance is fast, passionate, and seemingly effortless. However, once they move in together, the intimacy that first brought them together begins to disappear, and the gap between affection and desire becomes impossible to ignore, forcing Mika to confront changes in a relationship, and herself, that no longer feel familiar to her. "[A]n engaging portrait of a modern-day Swedish relationship" (Screen Anarchy), Fanni Metelius’s candid, sharply observed debut is an emotionally raw exploration of modern love and sexuality that exposes the invisible power struggles beneath modern romance and the painful distance between loving someone and being truly seen by them.
