The Suspect

Philip Marshall, a gentle shopkeeper trapped in an unhappy marriage, grows close to Mary Gray, an unemployed stenographer searching for work. Although he falls for her, he keeps their relationship platonic. When his suspicious wife refuses a divorce and later dies in an apparent accident, Inspector Huxley of Scotland Yard suspects Philip of murder. But can Huxley prove it?
