When former San Francisco Police Commissioner Harry Ashcombe puts out a call to help locate his "missing" wife, Monk and Sharona volunteer their assistance. But no sooner than they are on the case when the body of Mrs. Ashcombe is discovered by the notorious quack psychic Dolly Flint, who claims she was led to the body in a psychic trance. After attending the late Mrs. Ashcombe's memorial service, Monk begins to suspect that her death was more than just an accident.

During the team's efforts to thwart a Mejia weapons operation, Bryan (Clive Standen) is taken. As he relies on his ODNI training to survive, the team attempts a daring rescue. Meanwhile, Bryan and Asha (Brooklyn Sudano) take their relationship to the next level.

The team of Alphas, including new member Hicks (Warren Christie), relocates to new offices in Queens after the attack on Dr. Rosen's (David Strathairn) life. While adjusting to their new surroundings the team investigates a series of violent public riots that are breaking out on the east coast. The only connection between the riots is a runaway teen, an Alpha, who overproduces certain pheromones that causes people nearby to become violent. Rosen's team must find a way to stop this Alpha without losing control themselves.
