Prentiss faces her past when the BAU is sent to investigate the murders of prominent businessmen, all of whom are missing their hearts. Also, Prentiss plans a romantic first date with Mendoza (guest star Stephen Bishop), but the evening is cut short by an urgent call from Rossi.

Welcome to Los Angeles, circa 1982, during the rock 'n' roll, cocaine-infused revelry of the Sunset Strip. But all is not glitter as there's a serial killer on the loose, and two detectives find themselves on one of the toughest cases of their careers, on the series premiere.

Jack and Paco get a lead on the serial killer's next possible victim and race against the clock to try and track her down before the killer gets to her; Kent struggles over whether or not to invite Betty to take part in his murderous rampage when it becomes clear that she doesn't trust him and may leave him, and Jack and Paco continue to search for Karen, who has disappeared from the club.

Jack tries to find out more about Kent's secret adulthood. Meanwhile, Betty reveals to Kent she is ready to take on a new life with him. Vicki goes out with some older boys and ends up on The Strip, where Kent and Betty are waiting.
