A 12 and a half year-old girl, Melanie (Holliston Coleman), arrives at the hospital, pregnant, and won't give anyone information about herself. Benson (Mariska Hargitay) persuades her to write down her address, and gets the name of the baby's father - Abraham (Jeff Kober), Melanie's husband. When Benson goes to the address, she sees numerous children inside and a very strange and dangerous looking Abraham at the door. He slams the door on the police - then they hear shots fired. All of the children in the house are found dead and Abraham has escaped.
Charlotte seeks Pete's help in treating her insomnia; Naomi goes on her first date since college; Cooper suspects that his patient's injuries aren't an accident; a patient asks Addison and Naomi to conceal her fertility from her husband.
Sam finds himself in the midst of a dangerous house call; Pete and Addison decide to take their relationship to the next level; Violet enters a "friends with benefits" pact with Cooper.
As Greene's medical problems reappear, Corday lives in a hotel room with the baby, angry at Greene for the way he dealt with Rachel (recurring guest star Hallee Hirsh) following the infant's overdose. Greene treats a father, Ian Nevinger (Brant Cotton), who severely burned himself while experimenting with illegal drugs. With the patient's life in immediate jeopardy, Greene is further tormented by Ian's refusal to let his family see him in his horrific condition.
After a neighbor is murdered, Allison's fears for her own family prompt her to install a high-tech talking burglar alarm, which she later suspects may be communicating with Marie. Also, Ariel meets a ghost who could help her get into the college of her choice.
