Season 6 starts with Dexter Morgan attending his 20th high school reunion to hunt a former Prom King. Everything's going perfectly for Dexter until Homicide comes up against a gruesome, faith-inspired murder. It leaves Dexter asking some bigger, spiritual questions about what to pass on to his son. Debra Morgan, in a solid place in her relationship with Quinn and in her role as detective, becomes an unexpected hero.

When Melanie sends gifts to the football team on behalf of Derwin in honor of the first game, Derwin gets teased and his teammates Jason and Malik feel pressured to reciprocate. A gift giving competition ensues.

The Short family’s quirky history is revealed with stories of when Tim met Heather’s family for the first time; when Jen and Greg bought their dream home; when Matt got sidetracked after he saw Colleen while waiting for a blind date; and John’s last flight before retiring.
