Kyle Kinane

Kyle Kinane

Kyle Kinane was a standup comedian who received a ton of acclaim in early 2015 for his Comedy Central special "I Liked His Old Stuff Better." Of course, like most comedians, Kinane's breakout success was several years in the making. Born and raised in the Chicago suburb of Addison, Kinane began performing standup in and around Chicago in the 1990s. By the early 2000s he developed his craft enough to relocate to Los Angeles, where he hoped to parlay his standup success into film and TV work. Unable to land TV work, Kinane started appearing in several comedy short films made for the Internet, including "The Wastelander" "(2005), "Kill Patrick Sullivan" (2006), and "Seagal It Takes" (2007), in which he played the lead role of former action star Steven Seagal. It was also around this time that Kinane began performing his standup on many of the late night talk shows, most notably "Last Call with Carson Daly" (NBC, 2002-2013) and "Conan" (TBS, 2010-). Then in 2011 Kinane landed his first big break with his very own standup special on Comedy Central. The special aired in February of 2011 and instantly made Kinane, who was only known in comedy circles at the time, a mainstream star. 2011 was also the year Comedy Central hired Kinane to do the voice-over work for every one of its TV promos. After the breakout success of his special, the offers started pouring in and over the next few years Kinane guest starred on "Workaholics" (Comedy Central, 2011-17), "Bob's Burgers" (Fox, 2011-), and several other shows. He also landed a recurring part as one of the voices on the surrealistic animated series "TripTank" (Adult Swim, 2013-). In early 2015 Kinane premiered a new standup special on Comedy Central with the tongue-in-cheek title of "I Liked His Old Stuff Better." The special received a wave of positive press and only cemented Kinane's status as one of the comedy world's up-and-coming standups.
