Collected evidence in a rape case leads Detectives Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Beck (Connie Nielsen) to a surprising suspect, Martin Trenway (guest star Charles Shaughnessy), a distinguished lawyer. Charges are pressed against him, but later dismissed due to insufficient evidence. However, a difficult and emotional meeting with an older French woman, Lorraine Delmas (guest star Leslie Caron), is able to break open the case. With no witnesses, the detectives must retrace the victim’s last steps to get insight into her final days. They quickly discover that just before her death, Brenna crashed an upscale political event, hosted by Senator Peterson (guest star Tony Roberts) and his wife, Camille (guest star Kathy Baker). As secrets unfold, Lupo and Bernard realize that they must untangle an intricate web of lies to obtain the truth about Brenna Lane’s murder. Also starring: Alana de la Garza (Asst. D.A.
