Michael Salzhauer

Plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer, renowned on social media as Dr. Miami, was born in New York City. He was raised in a Jewish family that fled persecution in Europe. After graduating from Washington University School of Medicine he underwent extensive training in cosmetic surgery with Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, the University of Miami Medical Center, and the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida. He opened up his practice in 2003 in Miami-Dade County. Using the nickname "Dr. Miami", Salzhauer made a massive social media presence posting videos and images of his cosmetic procedures. With millions of followers on Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat, Dr. Salzhauer was nominated for a Shorty Award in 2016 for innovative and outstanding work in social media. A reality show detailing his life and practice was filmed in 2016, titled "Dr. Miami" (WE tv, 2017). Dr. Salzhauer authored a children's book "My Beautiful Mother" in 2009 to help parents explain elective surgical procedures to their children.
