At first, the ghost can't identify himself to Melinda, but he claims that the widow weeping at the graveside every day is not his wife. Slowly, the ghost is able to remember things about his life and confesses to Melinda that he abandoned his wife and young daughter, which mirrors Melinda's own background. As Melinda tries to put aside her personal feelings, she attempts to unravel the mystery of who is buried in the grave.
An NYPD officer troubled over mounting financial difficulties is killed by fellow police officers after taking hostages at gunpoint. As detectives Lupo (Jeremy Sisto) and Bernard (Anthony Anderson) look into the incident, they discover valuable stolen documents hidden in the officers apartment, along with a dead body. The search leads the detectives to John Jay McIntyre (Guest Star Christopher McDonald) who is trying to establish that he is the illegitimate son of a famous President and is searching for the proof. A.D.A's Michael Cutter (Linus Roache) and Connie Rubirosa (Alana de la Garza) confront Jay's mother Lois (Guest Star Rue McClanahan) to find out if there is any truth to his claim. With a robbery and two murders to solve, the detectives arent sure if they are searching for a single killer or multiple killers as they try to unravel the facts of the cases. Also stars S. Natasha was involved with her manager's son, a troubled boy who supplied the young artist with drugs. The boy also disappeared at the same time as Natasha. And a strange man whom her parents may have known from Russia has been stalking the girl and sending her e-mails from every city in which she has played in the last year.
