Samantha Ferris

Canadian actress Samantha Ferris has focused mainly on television roles throughout her career, including a lead in the compelling sci-fi series "The 4400." Ferris found her first job in front of the camera as a news reporter for KVOS TV in Bellingham, Washington. After deciding that acting was her true calling, she parlayed her newscasting experience to get her start in drama. She played reporters in "Viper," "The Sentinel," "Screwed," and other shows. Ferris rounded out her resume with a supporting part in the 2001 mystery thriller film "Along Came a Spider" with Morgan Freeman, and made guest appearances on hit shows "Smallville" and "The L Word" before landing the gig as Nina Jarvis, the NTAC director in charge of tracking a group of super-humans, on the USA network's "The 4400." With a juicy story line and original concept to work with, Ferris and the rest of the show's cast kept fans engrossed over the course of four seasons before the program was cancelled in 2007. While still working on "The 4400" Ferris reunited with "The L Word" co-star Rachel Shelley for the romantic comedy "Gray Matters." By now she was a skilled character actor capable of delivering solid performances, and Ferris's services remained in high demand. She graced episodes of "Battlestar Galactica," "Supernatural," and "Human Target," and filmed "The Tall Man" with Jessica Biel in 2011.
