Slappy White

Slappy White was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. In 1969, he teamed up with fellow comedian Steve Rossi in one of the first racially mixed comedy teams of that time. White started off his acting career mostly in film roles, appearing in the dramedy "The Man from O.R.G.Y." (1970) with Robert Walker Jr. and "Amazing Grace" (1974). He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Blossom" (NBC, 1990-95). He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "My Buddy" (NBC, 1978-79) and "White and Reno" (NBC, 1980-81). He also appeared in the comedic drama "Mr. Saturday Night" (1992) with Billy Crystal. White more recently acted on "Fudge" (CBS, 1994-98). White passed away in November 1995 at the age of 74.
