1993: Berlusconi Rising

April 30th, 1993. Outside the Raphael Hotel, people in the crowd throw coins at Bettino Craxi. The old powers have crumbled, but before a new one is entrenched, all the positions that have been left vacant must be filled.

As the rise of Berlusconi looms, Politician Craxi is ready to call it quits; Pietro asks a friend for a favor; Leo returns home to visit his father; Veronica spends her birthday with a young admirer who seeks career advice. But, real danger awaits.

Veronica has been involved in the bombing of Fauro Street, but her only preoccupation is not to miss the rehearsals of the piece Saluti e Baci. Borto is in a coma: he attempted suicide.

Leo is in prison, while Berlusconi announces he's about to start a new political party. Luca is assigned to investigate into the National Health System. There's a risk this investigation might hit as well the Mainaghi Group.

July 24, 1993. Raul Gardini's suicide triggers an earthquake. The “Pool” has lost a key witness in the Enimont investigation and Giulia feels responsible for that.

In the scorching August of 1993, Leo is finally released, but he knows that it won't be easy to get his job back. Pietro, in the meantime, by siding with Miglio, captures his colleagues' attention.
