Cat Visitor

60-year-old Isao has been retired for three months now. With so much free time on his hands, he is unsure of what to do. His wife is usually busy during the day, leaving Isao at home. One day he notices odd things about the layout of his house and begins inspecting. He later discovers that cats like to frequent his home.

While Isao is cleaning the house, two cats suddenly visit him. Isao sees them and assumes that they are a couple. They play, sleep, and even share the same living space together. Seeing them reminds Isao of human couples who stay together forever.

Today’s feline visitors are a mother cat and her kitten. Seeing the free-spirited cat and kitten reminds Isao of his daughter who didn't show appreciation to him at her wedding. Isao decides to step into his daughter's room for the first time.

Since Isao retired, he’s been afraid of phone calls; he always hides in the bathroom until the phone stops ringing. During one such moment, a kitten comes in from his bathroom window. He names the little kitten Guruguru. After spending some time with it, he realizes that the kitten reminds him of something.

Even after retiring, the train schedule is sacred to Isao. He examines the schedule one day and sees a kitten begin to scratch it. He quickly tucks the schedule away to safety but begins to wonder... “What does this even mean to me now?”

Today’s feline visitor is a fat, white cat that Isao decides to call Daifuku. Daifuku reminds Isao of his slow-moving, mediocre son-in-law. Isao always gets irritated looking at his son-in-law. However, spending time with Daifuku gives Isao feelings of endearment.
